Four-time RITA nominee Joanne Rock turned a passion for writing into a career when imaginary characters kept her awake at night, demanding she tell their stories. The author of over seventy romances in a variety of sub-genres, she enjoys small-town family sagas as much as high-drama glitz and glamour. A former Golden Heart recipient, Joanne has won numerous awards for her stories. Her work has been reprinted in twenty-six countries and translated into twenty languages. She has taught writing, film and fiction at a college level and enjoys sharing her passion for the arts at creative writing workshops, career fairs and with aspiring writers she meets online.

What I’ve Been Doing Lately: I just returned from New York City where I had fun at BookCon 2017, a huge reader event at the Javits Center. I got to visit with writer friends, make new reader friends, and look over publishers’ new offerings for the coming year. It’s a book lover’s dream! I had fun walking around the city with two of my sons as well, enjoying some gorgeous spring weather. Now, I’m digging in until the RWA conference this July as I’ve got lots to write before then!
Interests: Journal-keeping, life writing, traveling, astrology, world religions, pscyhology, social history, mystic traditions, Pre-Raphaelite art, the Romance poets, the work of H.D., all things medieval, studies about creativity, personality profiling. Lately, I’ve been spending time bike riding, too.
